President Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Message to President-elect and Re-elected President Hassan Rouhani of Iran

On May 20, 2017, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Hassan Rouhani, congratulating his re-election as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Xi Jinping pointed out in the congratulatory message that over the past four years, under the leadership of Mr. President, Iran has made new achievements in its economic and social development. Under the joint efforts of both sides, China-Iran relations maintain a sound development momentum. I paid a state visit to Iran last January, and held in-depth talks with you, reaching the important consensus on China-Iran relations. Both countries formally announced to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership. Attaching great importance to developing China-Iran relations, I am willing to join hands with you to push forward the development of China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership.
