Cultural Bites-Making Qingtuan in Qingming Festival
Qingming Festival is one of the 24 solar terms in China, with a history of more than 2,500 years, and it is also one of the most important traditional festivals in China.
Qingtuan is made by mixing wormwood juice into glutinous rice flour and then wrapping various fillings into it, which has been passed down for more than 100 years. Qingtuan is not only sweet and greasy, but also has a light grass aroma, which is one of the traditional delicacies of the Qingming Festival.
In order to let international students understand the traditional Chinese festival-Qingming Festival and experience the traditional Chinese folk culture, the International Education College launched the activity of “Cultural Bites-Making Qingtuan in Qingming Festival” and the international students experienced the whole process of preparing Qingtuan and emerged themselves with the happiness of the festival together.
The International Education College organized international students to participate in the traditional activities of making Qingtuan, and the students experienced the fun of the Qingming Festival in the production of mixing flour, rolling wrappers, stuffing, and kneading rounds. The small Qingtuan carries full joy.
This activity allowed international students to understand the origin, history and traditional customs of the Qingming Festival, stimulated their enthusiasm for understanding and perceiving China, and deepened their understanding of Chinese culture.
