Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi of Indonesia
On May 13, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi of Indonesia, who accompanied President Joko Widodo of Indonesia to China for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Wang Yi said that as major developing countries, both China and Indonesia share extensive common interests. China is willing to, in line with the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, enhance the integration between the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road and Indonesia's Global Maritime Fulcrum strategy, jointly advance common development and prosperity and safeguard regional peace and stability.
Retno Marsudi expressed that the country expects the mutual docking and promotion between the "Belt and Road" initiative and regional countries' development strategies. Indonesia is willing to cooperate with China to make contributions to regional and world peace, stability and prosperity.
